How to Prepare for a Hurricane

Vianey’s quick checklist for being ready — even if it is for something you hope you never have to experience!

  1. Review your insurance policies: You don’t have to be an expert, just know what you have. Do you have a policy? (If not, we need to get you one. Schedule a consultation today!)

  2. Check Your Deductible: How much would come out of your pocket if you have hurricane damage? If you’re not sure, ask me.

  3. Hurricane proof your home: Is it too late to put it underground? Yes. So — I don’t mean taping your windows, I mean have you done regular maintenance on your home to make sure it’s a secure structure? Not sure what this means? Reach out — that’s what I’m here for.

  4. Create a plan: Talk with your loved ones ahead of time about what to do in case of a hurricane. The worst feeling is not knowing what to do. Communication is key, guys!

    My most valuable tip:

    Have an emergency supply kit!

Hint: You don’t need enough water bottles to fill an underground swimming pool.

    Vianey’s List:

    • Keep enough cash and important documents in a weatherproof container

    • Cell phone charger and an external charger.

    • Non-perishable and easy to prepare foods

    • Flashlights

    • Medications and medical items

    • Personal hygiene and sanitation items

    • Multi-purpose tool

    • Whatever you’re super thirsty for during a hurricane ;)

Let’s get you prepared for hurricane season and all of life’s moments!
